exp Title
i have been looking the guru site and found in 1 topic something about getting a title when a charr heve reached 1 million xp
also when i am ingame i see a lot of ppl looking for experienced people
or i see people who are claiming they are very expirienced and call themself pro
but when i asked them how many xp they have
they have no more than about 700 000 xp points
here now is something about myself
i play guildwars from the moment it came out (and the beta s before)
i am not a pro
i am not a bot
i use no cheats
i am not the most experienced dude ingame
but i just love to play whit my monk a lot
and yes i have 8 000 000 (8 million exp points)
here now is my question i really like to get a TITLE for that so i can show my expirience to ppl who just play for some weeks and claim to be pro
and i think i urned it becouse of my dedication to the game
greetss

Why not just be able to display your exp bar below your name in place of a title? It seems fairly simple to implement. Although my necro's would kinda trail off.. 13,337,276 exp ftw. (and yes, I will be sad when I roll over the "1337" at the top of the title >_<)

Farming will distort this title greatly.
Also a reward for grind, although there are more titles of that kind (gladiator, hero).
Not against this, but not warming up to it either.

There are other titles already in existance showing how good a pve player you are ... or how much experience you have. Carto's and Protter's titles cover this easily imo. To me XP title = farming. Unless of course titles would be something like:
Planter
Garden Farmer
Hobby Farmer
Plantation Farmer
I Have No Life 'Cause All I Do Is Farm (max title)

yeah farming would kinda mess it up...i will be the first to say that my tank would just cheat for that title...she is only 57 days old and she already has over 2 mil EXP...and that is because i solo FoW spider Cave with her.

Yeah, farming is one thing that screws it up. High experience totals unfortunately do not equal experienced players.
Also, how does this factor in people that play several different characters? You have a monk with 8 million experience, but are you a more experienced player than me with 14 different characters ranging from 300k to 3.5 million exp?
If they were to implement a title like this, it would have to be account based, not character based. If you make an elementalist and have 200k experience because you just started it, yet you have a monk with 8 million experience on your account, are you any less experienced because you have a 200k elementalist?
The other downside is of course the ever popular fear of class, rank, title discrimination.

In this case, Exploration, Protector and skill capturing titles shows REAL PvE experience.

Like others have said, experience points don't show your "l33t"ness seeing as farming will net in many poitns while not gaining any real experience. A
s MithranArkanere said, Exploration and Protector show real skill in missions, while Skill capture titls show that you can handle hard enemy mobs.

There have also been characters with experience bars showing upwards of 20 million points. (I've seen one with 50 million plus but that may have been fake.) This kind of idea would also encourage botting, as well as the farming others have mentioned - though botting is less of a problem now since the AI fix.
Also, what about all the deleted characters and their experience? I've deleted around 20 (yes, twenty) level 20 characters with experience ranging from 150K to 800K. Were this to be account-based, which IMO it shouldn't be, it probably wouldn't include deleted characters (PvE or PvP).
I don't have a problem with it at all since my monk has a lot of experience but I wouldn't sign a petition supporting it. :P
[EDIT: Were there to be a title, I'd hope it would start at something like 2 million experience. One million is very easy to get to with the quest rewards in Factions and Nightfall, as well as skill capping. Tiers like 2 million, 5 million, 10 million, 20 million or something...]

It's a title that's way too easily exploitable.
I have at least 5 times more playtime on an ele than warrior and ranger combined. Yet warrior and ranger have 3-4 times as much xp.
Ranger got it in tombs runs, warrior in FoW runs.
And I'm not even remotely a hard-core farmer.
The title itself isn't that meaningless. It's exploitable obviously, but if someone does show up with a character with millions of xp, they must have done something to earn it. Unfortunately, it's too easy to typecast someone based on xp.
The downside would be huge for monks. Any monk with high xp ammount would be considered a farmer, and immediately ignored. Just carrying Mo/W will grant you a stigma. Although, a mesmer with 20 mil xp would mean something.
